Admiral Twin is playing twice this Wednesday: 7pm at Cain's Ballroom and 9pm at Steamroller Blues. The first show is a benefit for Tulsa Repertory Theater. Tickets are $25. The second show is a benefit show related to the Tulsa Christmas CD that we're on. The CD is $10 and gives free admission to that show. This information has changed several times so I recommend checking information with the venues if you wish to attend. I haven't gone canoeing in a long time.
All's quiet here for the holidays. We're playing a gig or two this Wednesday here in Tulsa but other than that we're mostly waiting. Waiting to see what happens with radio. Waiting for the compilations to come out that we're on. Waiting... Well, we're not sure what tomorrow will bring for us but we sincerely appreciate all of your support and hope all is well with you. Have a great Thanksgiving. (P.S. - we won a spotnik award here in Tulsa for "Best Pop Performers"!)
"Better Than Nothing At All" debuted at #7 on the Gavin Most Added list! Translation: we're off to a great start thanks to you all. Keep calling your local Top 40 stations and requesting us. It should be available at all Top 40 stations soon if it's not already.
"Better Than Nothing At All" is released to radio today! Pick up those phones and start requesting it from your local radio stations. Also - "Number One Fan" is going to be on the Blind Date compilation CD and "Better Than Nothing At All" is going to be on a Sony/Best Buy compilation CD. Both are due out this fall.
Concert this Saturday, 9/16/2000, at the Riverparks Amphitheater with The Nixons and Molly's Yes.
After much deliberation, the Powers That Be have decided that the next single is "Better Than Nothing At All" and will be unleashed on radio October 10th. Listen for it!
Ouch. Here's the bad news: 1. We're not going on tour with Hanson. For the smart alecks that
were giving us a hard time because we didn't have official dates posted
here, it was because everything was still in negotiations.
Unfortunately, it couldn't be worked out.

Well, things are still simmering here. We're trying to finish cooking up some tour dates to publish here but we're having a hard time nailing things down. We will be playing at Club ID in Tulsa on August 22nd. It's an All-ages benefit show for the Tulsa Repertory Theater. Tickets are $25 and there'll be food and four bands from 7pm-midnight. As soon as we get more definite tour dates, we'll let you know. In the mean time, keep calling those radio stations and requesting Admiral Twin.
Opening night for The In Crowd found us annoyed and confused. We had heard that "Another Day" was only in about 10-20 seconds of the movie so we weren't expecting much. We were quietly suffering through the movie when some sixth sense stiffened the hairs on the back of my neck and I somehow knew that although I couldn't physically hear the song, it had just started playing in the movie nonetheless. The next minute or so of the movie was spent tensely waiting for the song to ascend to an audible level. Guess what? It never did. So much for our first audio appearance in a movie. Our names were in the credits, however. You don't see your name in the credits on the big screen just every day. (Unless your surname is Spielberg or something) The latest dirty rumor is that we're supposed to be on a music compilation CD due out this fall. It's sponsored by Playstation and Best Buy so that could be a Good Thing. More tour dates! P.S. - the weather in Tulsa has been absolutely breathtaking lately:
thunderstorms at night, cool, breezy sunshiny days. What's going on? I
predict it's a plot to lull us into complacency before we get invaded by
body-snatching aliens.
Life accelerates once again: Other tour dates to be announced soon...
The new site is up, the new album is out, we're on the cover of our local newspaper today--things are coming up roses all over. OK, not exactly but things are definitely off and running. Let us know what you think of the album and the new website. And keep calling your local radio stations to request "The Unlucky Ones". And eat your vegetables.
The new site is almost ready. I could show you a preview, but then I'd have to erase your memory afterwards. You know how these top secret things go. There'll be song clips from the new album and new photos and lots of things new. The whole site will have that new car smell. Thanks to everyone who's been calling and emailing their local radio stations requesting "Unlucky Ones". Keep up the good work. If you don't call, they won't play it. There's going to be an online chat with us on June 20th at 9pm EST at www.chatroom.org. You can submit questions for the chat at www.chatroom.org/atchat.htm.
Rumor has it the first single will go to radio in May and the album will be released in June...
"The waiting is the hardest part" - Tom Petty We're still waiting for things to happen. There's not much sweetness and light to report: another song's been dropped from the album and everyone's been suffering from various and assorted personal crises. Wait, there is one pleasant fact to report: the album completed mastering in January. It sounds so good I cry like a little baby whenever I listen to it. The funny thing is that even after spending so long on these tracks I still really enjoy listening to the album. That's a good sign but we're all very cynical of the music industry and the fickleness of the American Public. We're still exploring potential management situations and we've realized that nothing much good is going to happen until we get a management team working for us. Oh, the stories we could tell... P.S. - We're playing a show at the Expo Center in Tulsa in March. Look for details on our Events page. Camera's will be OK, but no video taping or audio recording at this show, please. If you happen to live in Tulsa, you can check out The Unlucky Ones. P.P.S. - The website is undergoing a major overhaul. These things take time however. We'll keep you posted on the schedule as it becomes apparent. Expect to see some new articles from us and juicy personal info.
Contrary to paranoid doomsayers, the world did not end at the stroke of midnight the other night and things are just dandy here in Tulsa. (Hopefully everyone will stop saying "Y2K" now.) We completed mixing the album in December. It goes for mastering this week and then it's time for taking care of all the other business that's been neglected while we were writing and recording. You might be happy to hear that we've started an official club for those who have developed an affinity for our music. We've dubbed it The Admiral Twin Secret Society. Shhh! Don't forget the secret knock. Head over here to get a printable application you can mail to us. Oh, and please don't tell Michael Jackson, he'll start pestering us again.
